We have a simple structure - a volunteer Council Circle elected by members and a group of volunteers known as Regional Representatives who help coordinate activities in their local area. Our past Council carriers are asked to join our Wisdom Keepers, so that their wisdom is not lost, and we can ask advice at any time.
If you want to contact any of the Council carriers individually, please use the admin@aln.org.au address with the specific person's name in the Subject line, and it will be forwarded to the relevant person.
Christina Rowntree Chair I first met the labyrinth in 2003 on Boonwurrung Country. Robin and Bronwyn Pryor had built a Chartres labyrinth in their garden with a view of Bass Strait. A pivotal experience that set me on the path of labyrinth walking. I trained as a facilitator with Lauren Artress and with Lars Howlett, who gave me confidence to create ephemeral labyrinths in many contexts in my work with the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA). Over the past 20 years I’ve facilitated labyrinth walks, workshops and events with children and adults, at festivals, community events, and at ALN gatherings. A highlight was working with others to offer walks for the Parliament of the World’s Religions in 2009. I’m one of four trainers who offer Veriditas-accredited labyrinth facilitator training. I joined ALN at its inception. I juggle family care with my work as Ministry Coordinator with Sophia’s Spring, an eco-feminist faith community of the UCA. I offer my skills and passion on Council, to encourage the Australian labyrinth community, building on the good work of the past, bringing fresh vision and encouraging local initiatives. Geoff Rodda Council Member | Therese Welsh Vice Chair The labyrinth found me in the summer of 2015, and I was held in its circuits in such a profound peace that encouraged me to build my meditative practice around the layers and dimensions of the labyrinth. My family run a merino sheep farm in Eugowra growing fine merino wool. During the drought of 2019 we built our own labyrinth on a beautiful plateau in our conservation area. This followed our thinking “build it and they will come”. We have hosted many events there over the past 5 years and continue to share the practice of labyrinth walking with our family, friends and community members across the Central Western NSW region. I am an educator with over 40 years’ experience. I am a Veriditas certified labyrinth facilitator, training with the first Australian trained cohort in 2023. I am a Melchizedek Labyrinth Healing practitioner having trained with Tony Christie and finally a TLS regional representative for Central West and Western NSW. I hope I can serve the community of labyrinth lovers regardless of their experience. Blessing on the path. Lorraine Rodda Treasurer | Cici Edwards-Jensen Secretary Linda Blyth Council Member I live near the beach in Bunbury WA with my partner John. I am Mum, Aunt, and Step-Mum to six adult kids, and Step-Nanna to John's grandson. I grew up as a "parsons-kid", my father being a Methodist-Uniting Church minister for over 60 years, and I enjoy worshipping at Bunbury Uniting Church and playing clarinet in the church band. In 2017, I joined fellow health colleagues on a Committee of Management to build Bunbury Garden Labyrinth, taking the baton as Chair from co-founder Nari Jones during the labyrinth’s implementation phase and official opening in Sept 2020. I am part of a small Friends of Bunbury Garden Labyrinth group and am moderator of our social media pages. I am a member of ALN Labyrinths in Educational Settings Group and am WA's Regional Rep for The Labyrinth Society. I've worked for 39 years as an Occupational Therapist and Registered Music Therapist in diverse settings including disability, mental health, aged and palliative care. John lives with disabilities following a fall in 2022, so I balance being carer and working as therapist with foster families. The labyrinth, ocean, and my art practice offer space for reflection and solace through the twists & turns of life. |
